The Indiana Minority Business Magazine, through the Indianapolis Recorder, recognized their 2017 Champions of Diversity on Friday, January 13th. I had the distinct privilege of receiving the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Freedom Award.
As we reflect on Dr. King’s legacy, the dream of equality continues to evolve. For people with disabilities, progress moves the dream from “Yes We Can” to “Yes We Will.”
Ball State University has always been at the forefront of providing access and inclusion for minority groups and this recognition further exemplifies Ball State’s dedication to equality for people with disabilities.
Much like the challenges Dr. King faced fighting for racial equality, we are now called to confront these varied challenges and continue encouraging political participation to effect change.
